Trois jeunes musiciens qui gravitent entre Paris, New York et l’Italie. PERICOPES est un groupe de jazz crée en 2007 par le pianiste Alessandro Sgobbio (installé à Paris depuis 2011) et le saxophoniste Emiliano Vernizzi. On s’agit de “nouveau jazz”, un mélange différentes influences musicales, au même temps avec des bases bien posées sur la tradition européenne ainsi que la musique afro-américaine et l’improvisation.
C’est bien en 2012 à Paris que Sgobbio et Vernizzi commencent une fructueuse collaboration avec le jeune et talentueux batteur américain Nick Wight. Une collaboration bien concrétisée pendant cette année, dans l’enregistrement d’un nouvel album (de prochaine publication) plus une série de concerts aux États- Unis en avril/mai derniers. Leur dernière publication c’est le DVD “Frames”.
